The purpose of the Final Paper on environmental degradation and justice is for you to culminate the learning achieved in the course by proposing a solution to one of the many areas of environmental injustices, such as location of hazardous industries in poorer communities, reduced life expectancies in some parts of the inner city, or unsafe housing. The Final Paper on environmental degradation and justice represents 25% of the overall course grade. Your topic should
• Focus on environmental health, human health, or economic development issues.
• Have been addressed in some form by legal and or regulatory strategies.
• Have been the subject of a current emergency management measure or measures.
In order to make this assignment manageable, you should focus on a single affected geographic area (e.g., local, national, or international), the population or populations affected, and the associated environmental health issues.
